Teach you to judge whether to use water softener or reverse osmosis equipment for boiler
During the use of the boiler, as the water vapor evaporates, the water vapor contains a large amount of impurities. Under high temperature heating, it is easy to form some white precipitates, resulting in salt formation.
If the raw water used contains calcium and magnesium ions, it will affect the efficiency of the boiler, and even cause danger in serious cases.
Therefore, boiler water must be treated before use.
The equipment generally used for water treatment includes water softener equipment and RO reverse osmosis equipment. So is it better to use boiler water softener equipment or RO reverse osmosis equipment for boiler water?
Let’s first understand the difference.
Boiler water softening equipment uses ion exchange technology.
When raw water containing hardness ions passes through the resin layer of the boiler water softening equipment, the calcium and magnesium ions in the resin are replaced by sodium ions.
The resin absorbs calcium and magnesium ions, and sodium ions enter the water.
Therefore, the water discharged from the heat exchanger is softened water with hardness ions removed.
The sodium ions in the resin are completely removed during the continuous exchange process, and the exchange function is lost.
At this time, the resin must be regenerated with sodium chloride solution to replace the calcium and magnesium absorbed by the resin.
Absorb sodium ions again to restore the softening exchange capacity.
Boiler Softening Water Equipment
Boiler softening water equipment kettle can be used in process water, cooling water, boiler, steelmaking, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries.
Intermittent or continuous type can be used.
The devices are: single valve single tank, single valve double tank, double valve double tank. Boiler softening water equipment has many advantages. It can be automatically regenerated at a fixed time and fixed flow rate. The system uses computer online monitoring to achieve continuous operation and fully automated operation of the regeneration process.
The switching of each process is almost synchronous, without human interference throughout the process, and there will be no advance or lag in process operation. Small initial investment, small footprint, and low water production cost.
RO reverse osmosis equipment adopts reverse osmosis membrane technology, including pretreatment system, reverse osmosis system and post-treatment.
It can not only soften raw water, but also has a strong interception effect on organic matter, colloids, particles, bacteria, viruses, heat sources, etc.
It is suitable for pre-desalination treatment of high-pressure boiler feed water in enterprises such as boiler feed water in the power industry, thermal power boilers, and medium and low-pressure boiler power systems in factories and mines;
Industrial water for flushing electronic components such as integrated circuits, silicon chips, and electronic tubes;
Preparation of industrial water such as large infusions, needles, and medicines in the pharmaceutical industry.
RO reverse osmosis equipment has high water permeability and strong desalination capacity. It consumes less energy, has high water utilization rate, and has lower operating costs than other desalination equipment.
The equipment is small in size, simple to operate, easy to maintain, highly adaptable, and has a long life.
In general, the water quality after filtration by RO reverse osmosis equipment is much higher than that of boiler softening water equipment. For multi-boiler equipment, it would be better to use a reverse osmosis system.
However, due to different processes, the cost difference between the two types of equipment is large. RO reverse osmosis equipment is much more expensive.
